Survey of yoga benefits according to yoga students
Listed below are the results from a large, independent survey of how Australian yoga students see the benefits of yoga.
In order of priority, the major benefits yoga students considered they got from different yoga styles were:
- heath & fitness
- flexibility and muscle tone
- reduction of stress and anxiety
- personal development
- spiritual pathways
- specific health or medical problem addressed such as back, neck, cancer, heart, PTSD, depression, and more.
The yoga survey was in 2012, with about 4,000 teachers and students surveyed. It was a scientific and quality survey, so this information is straight from the “horse’s mouth”, so to speak
